My kids are ready, but this momma is still marking up the color-coded calendar and trying to figure out the logistics of getting everyone everywhere they need to be.
I’m excited for my girls to participate in swimming, soccer, tennis, and volleyball, plus a babysitting clinic and a few other activities—all good things.
But, what working parent can get their kids to a 10 a.m. event every day for an entire week and then be back two hours later to shuttle them home?
I get it.
It’s summer. Kids don’t have a schedule per se.

The 36th Annual Morristown Dam Days Celebration will begin with the coronation of Miss Morristown 2021 on Wednesday, June 2, at 7 p.m. in the Morristown Community Center. Admission is two dollars and a Dam Days button. Dam Days buttons will be sold at the door.
Miss Morristown Royalty 2020 Carly Reinke and Sadie Oorlog will crown Miss Morristown 2021 and share their memories of the past year.
Candidates will be judged on poise, personality, appearance, educational accomplishments, activities, community involvement and talent.

She’s had enough ranch dressing to last her a decade.
2011 Waterville-Elysian- Morristown High School graduate Tabitha Nusbaum, daughter of Carrie Schmidtke and Dan Nusbaum, was dropped into a big vat of cold ranch dressing as part of NBC’s television gameshow, Ellen’s Game of Games.
The episode featuring Nusbaum aired Sunday night, May 16.
On the show, Nusbaum played “You Bet Your Wife,” a game where one contestant wagers what their partner will know. If the partner does not know the answer in time, he or she is dropped into a big vat of ranch dressing.

Bernadine (O’Leary) Hildebrant’s a little lady. Her knees don’t always cooperate so she uses a walker to get around her home, but even at almost 100 years old, she’s quick witted and enjoys visiting with family and friends.
She’ll turn 100 years young on Monday, May 17.

Robert Alvin Richter, age 84, of Faribault and formerly of Morristown died on Sunday, May 9, 2021 at Pleasant Manor Nursing Home, Faribault.
Memorial services will be held at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault on Friday, May 14, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. with the Reverend Juan Palm pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, North Morristown. Interment at Sabre Lake Cemetery, rural Kilkenny.
A memorial visitation will be held in the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault for one hour prior to the service on Friday.

Eleanor Jacobs passed away on April 12, 2021.
Born on January 29, 1928 in St Patrick, Minnesota to a family of 10 children, she was the daughter of Frank and Bessie (Pavlicek) Vohnoutka. She married Clifford Jacobs on June 11, 1950. They settled on a farm in Waterville, Minnesota and had three children, Linda, Steven and Mark. She liked flowers, fishing, playing cards, dogs, going to Mystic Lake and arguing with anyone.

Mass of Christian Burial for Rita Seifert Holmes, 88, of Mankato, formerly of Clements will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 14th at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Wabasso.  Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 13th at the church and one hour prior to the service.  A social and meal will be held at the Wabasso Community Center following the Mass with all welcome. Burial will take place after the social at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Clements. Masks are required at all indoor events and social distancing guidelines will be followed.

An extensive search for a new Le Sueur County Administrator is coming to a close.
After final interviews with four candidates Monday, May 3, the Le Sueur County Board of Commissioners extended the job offer to Joseph Martin during the Tuesday, May 4 board meeting.
Martin, lives in rural Waterville with his wife, Staci (Bohlen), and their two children. He is the son-in-law of Curtis and Joyce Bohlen of rural Kilkenny.

Jean Salzle, age 92, of Madison Lake, formerly of Waterville, died peacefully on Saturday evening, May 1, 2021 at her home with her children by her side.

Motorists on Highway 21 in Rice County at Shieldsville are encountering lane closures that began April 19 as crews start resurfacing, making intersection improvements and repairing culverts, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Work includes resurfacing approximately eight miles of Hwy. 21 from about one mile west of Interstate 35 to Highway 99. New turn lanes/bypass lanes will be installed at Shields Court, Mazaska Lake Trail, Lake Mazaska Boat Launch and French Lake Trail.
